Stephen is a Corporate Advisor with extensive experience in preparing businesses for sale and maximising the exit value for shareholders.  Strengthening financials and reducing business risks improves the overall enterprise value of the business.  Stephen has positioned many companies and attracted the right type of buyers/investors resulting in both financial and strategic sales.

Acquisition search and assessments for private and public company clients is another one of his fortes that delivers detailed analysis and top recommendations.  For example, in Singapore, Stephen successfully researched and acquired two technology companies for a renewable energy business.

In company mergers between major corporations like, Hewlett-Packard & Compaq, and Nokia Networks & Siemens Communications, Stephen’s involvement developed extensive insight and lessons in successful mergers. The success came from the time spent in identifying synergies and aligning cultures.  The same experience has been applied to acquisition bolt-on’s to enable geographic expansion and top line / bottom line growth.

Stephen has assisted in and led the formation of numerous joint ventures in Asia Pacific with ISSC and Lend Lease in Australia, Hitachi and Marubeni in Japan, and Cheil Jedang Corporation and Hewlett-Packard in Korea. Determining the right corporate structure, shareholder agreements, and taxation considerations is critical to ensuring a suitable operating platform that maximises future returns.

Stephen has successfully raised capital for early stage businesses as well as companies looking for growth and expansion.  At the lower end, $500K was raised for an events company from a UK investor,  $20M was raised through offshore investors for a renewal energy company, and $47M was raised for a property developer.

Because of Stephen’s cross industry experience and extensive network base across Asia he has been able to tap into Asian investors for local opportunities as well as setup joint ventures and partnerships for high return investments overseas.

Truly Stephen is a business transformational leader breaking business boundaries and setting new benchmarks in market development and business services.  With over 20 years of high level corporate management experience with worldwide heavyweights like IBM, HP and Nokia, most of it gained in Asia and Europe, he has been responsible for $100M to $1B outsourcing services.  These complex large deals involve infrastructure buyouts, lease transfers, capex to opex conversions and 100’s to 1000’s of staff transitions complete with retaining their existing benefits and others redundancy payouts.

Managing a major corporate outsourcing division in Tokyo, Japan, with P&L and staff management responsibilities, Stephen implemented significant changes improving operational performance, raising the customer satisfaction index, and introducing cultural transformation programs to improve organizational capabilities, customer focus and revenue flow.
