Janice Thompson is a gifted problem solver whose hands-on subject matter experience in corporate finance, sales, marketing, customer service, risk management and technology enables her to quickly identify and develop solutions for growth impediments at an enterprise level. Ms. Thompson has worked with senior leadership teams and Boards of Directors of companies in the start-up, growth, mature and declining phases of the business cycle and in sectors as varied as financial services, telecommunications, publishing, manufacturing, insurance, retail, technology and not-for-profit. Janice’s accomplishments include working with the leadership team of the largest employee owned advertising agency to develop a strategy for enhancing digital capabilities; working with the leadership team of a $15 billion financial services company to develop a customer centric culture in response to a change in the competitive landscape; developing a strategy that delivered $5MM in incremental revenue in 30 days from a target market that a retailer had been struggling to attract to stores; developing a system that yielded 4,600 new members a month for a n organization that had been experiencing a steady decline in membership; working with the BOD and senior management team of a yearbook and class ring manufacturer to help de-risk their business model by sourcing, vetting and structuring a $60MM acquisition of an educational software company; and increasing the close rate of the sales team of a $10MM publishing company by 6% by restructuring the sales, marketing and customer service processes.
Ms. Thompson is a graduate of Harvard College where she received an AB in Economics. She has also completed an executive leadership program at Harvard Business School. Ms. Thompson is a former member of the Board of Directors for Barkley, Inc. where she sat on the Compensation Committee, a former Board Member of Whitefield Academy (private K-12 school ) where she served on the Finance Committee and chaired the Personnel Committee and a former Board Member of Marillac (treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally challenged children).
