Carolyn and Dom are investors with ownership interests in several small businesses providing a spectrum of goods and services in various communities.  Dom’s first exposure to business came at an early age in the corrugated packaging and container business his father founded in 1964.  In 2018 the business produced over $9 million in gross sales and over $500 thousand in net profit while conducting an aggressive equipment recapitalization effort.

Carolyn’s career began in human resources where she mastered skills in developing job descriptions, preparing and presenting organizational training modules, and fostering positive personal relationships within the workplace designed to enhance organizational effectiveness.  These talents carried on throughout her career as a military spouse where she often counseled, consoled, and mentored others as the need arose. She routinely stepped up to lead groups where her skilled-approach built club cohesion and provided focus for projects undertaken.  Her steadfast support during Dom’s career enabled him to pursue his assigned tasks knowing the home front was in good hands.

While in uniform, Dom served as commanding officer of three Coast Guard cutters, all of which were recognized with unit awards for superior service while performing missions under his leadership.  In 1998, he led United States military delegation to meet with military counterparts in Vietnam for discussion of maritime search and rescue. It was the first military-to-military engagement with the Vietnamese since the Vietnam War.  The talks resulted in Vietnam becoming a full participant in international search and rescue protocols and in the creation of their own Coast Guard service arm. While serving a civilian capacity, he consulted extensively to integrate Coast Guard forces into concepts for their employment alongside other United States military forces in support of national security goals and objectives.

Carolyn and Dom value nurturing the community.  Carolyn served as the Parent Ombudsman for the Coast Guard Academy Admissions Office and as a museum curator.   Carolyn and Dom were active in the Coast Guard Academy’s Parents Association from 2000-2008.  Dom served as its president for the last four of those years.  Under his tenure the organization more than doubled the Parents’ contributions to the Academy from $30 thousand to over $60 thousand each year while establishing and funding an endowment for student transportation needs to the tune of over $220 thousand.  The Alumni Association recognized their efforts with their annual Distinguished Service Award in 2009. It was the first time the association acknowledged a husband-wife team for its award.

Additionally, Dom served for four years as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors. During that time, Board of Directors created the Association’s first-ever capital campaign to raise rise $30 million by the end of 2018.  The 5 year project successfully closed this year having met its goal.

Ever committed to community service, Carolyn currently serves as a Court Appointed Special Assistant, CASA, where she provides advocacy before the court for abused and neglected children.

Carolyn and Dom together bring a wealth of experience to explore the possibilities and opportunities businesses may not see for themselves.  Working together, they will effectively establish a clear understanding of a business’ purpose, structures and needs along with the bottom line in order to deliver exceptional value to their clients.
